I love all the Creek you've been posting. Feel free to keep it up. I think we have pretty similar tastes.

I've watched this many times since you posted it:

I'm still on a daily with that one.

Scott has really improved as a guitar player, to my novice ears. His sound grew a little stale in the early '90's, but his dynamic range, tone and creativity all are incredible. I can't believe he lives and tours so close by!

Yes! Count me in with these Creek links.

Some time ago I noted the blog of ptchfork, someone who loves Max Creek (among other good bands), and listed all his favourite shows up to that point (2007). Seems to still be there:

This is excellent! Thank-you! Just the categories of sound quality and comments will keep me busy. A quick glance and these dates pop out.

4-30-94
5-31-96
3-22-97
8-15-97
11-24-00

Do you know if ptchfork still comes around?

I don't know. He was born in Amherst, MA. He has about every way imaginable to contact him (twitter, d/b, my space, blog, ect.) From where the gigs are (including his large amount of solo/other projects) I assume it to be near his birthplace. Go to a show and ask him. He is very approachable.

"Go to a show and ask him. He is very approachable."

I plan on it when he comes to the NY/NJ area. Speaking of approachable musicians, John Molo is one of the easiest people to shoot the breeze with. He's such a normal, down to earth guy, from what I can tell. When I saw him with Moonalice at the Brooklyn Bowl, he hung out with the audience for awhile after his set, and he was more than happy to discuss pretty much anything.

Creek doesn't have any tour dates up for Dec. on their site. So far.

Are you coming to the lunch on 10-30 in NYC?

They're constantly on the road so I'm sure it won't be too long before they come around here. They sound as good as ever right now and I know I need to see them when I get the opportunity. Upcoming shows for me right now include Derek Trucks & SCI.

Unfortunately I have other arrangements already on the the 30th, but would love to join in the next time around.

I guess you heard about Thurston and Kim? No more. Could also spell the end of Sonic Youth although I hope they keep on like John and Exene....

No! No! No! Dammit.

A Fleetwood Mac situation? I would think after calling it quits after 27 years, do you really want to still hang out? Isn't that what Coco's future wedding is for?

Nov. 14 Sao Paulo, Brazil looks like the last show (maybe).

The last half of this song is why I love 'em. And Kim' singing of course.

I thought of you this week. Where's BD? I hope its all good.

E- Now, all I'm going listen to do is SY for a while, maybe longer(PPL).

Any favs?

It was all good - daughter's fall break. Hikes in big sur, a little ocean kayaking, and the odd show at the Henry Miller:

It's not the cover of The Rolling Stone (like a 1970's copy when it mattered), but that is cool. HML in the first P. too.

Sounds like it was ghostly evenings entertainment.

I bet you live in one of those houses, high up in the cliffs. The ones that make me worry when I drive by. Do a lot fall down? Walking the (fault) line. The views must be stunning. Worth it. Ewok.

And I just got it. Well done. Build It, and they will come to you.
